Wilde House - Dining Rooms

We are on the home stretch of our home renovations. This was the plan too, complete everything before we reach our 1 year anniversary in the house. What's left? The kitchen (major tiling project to undertake), bedroom furniture, wall art and the dining room.

We have a dining room table, bought some amazing teal chairs from Steinmart and installed the most gorgeous lighting fixture. It's from ET2 and it's so bright and beautiful.

What do we have left in our dining room? A rug and some decor. Here are some things I've been loving on Pinterest. Just need to get the boyfriend to agree on one with me!

Wilde House - Couch Color

When we painted the living room walls grey, I knew that I wanted to infuse a lot of color into the room. I'm all about these bright and cheery couch pillows, not just in summer, but all year round! We went with a straight-lined, cream sofa and now I'm wondering...  How much color is too much color?

Wilde House - Coffee Tables

We bought a comfy couch, picked up a furry rug and found a fun side table. There are a few elements left to fill in before we have a complete living room. Namely? We need a coffee table and a chair! The boyfriend and I are torn between styles. Do we want heavy and statement-y or pretty and trendy? The only thing we can agree on? We want something that we can put our feet up on.

You can see that we are all over the map when it comes to style. What I think we both agree on? There is no way we are spending $1,500 for a coffee table!

Wilde House - Entryway

Our new townhouse has a ground level doorway with a half flight of stairs up into the main floor. We recently bought an adorable chest of drawers from Homegoods. Now I'm torn between a gallery wall or a statement mirror. Or maybe a large and loud piece of art? What does your (real or imagined) entryway look like?

Wilde House - Lighting

// via //
There are three white ceiling fans in our new townhouse. They are ugly. I am on a quest to bring a little more pretty to the house via beautiful lighting. The boyfriend and I spent a Saturday in the NYC neighborhood of The Bowery - otherwise known as "The Lighting District."

These are some of the lights that I have been drawn to, since we started looking a few weeks ago. There are so many options these days, it's so hard to make a decision! I think I'm leaning toward a bubble light fixture for the dining table and a flush mount for the bedrooms. The boyfriend is all about pot lights. Zzzz.....

Wilde House - A Grey Living Room

via The Decorista
The boyfriend and I recently bought our first house. It's a townhouse, to be exact. We are still going back and forth on how we would like to decorate each room of the place. All I know for certain is this - we painted our first floor grey, Behr - Manhattan Mist, and now we need to fill the place with some furnishings.

Here is a roundup of some of my favorite grey living rooms from the internets. Grey, with pops of bright color. I'm all about these bright rugs. I may have some convincing to do.

I don't know if I can get the boyfriend on board with the bright purple chairs, but I certainly can try!

Welcome to the Wilde House

A few months ago, the boyfriend and I closed on our first house. We bought a cute little townhouse in Montclair, New Jersey. It's a quiet little town, just 25 minutes outside of Manhattan, where "Urban meets suburban." We are slowly working to renovate and make the place ours. Welcome to our new house. Sorry it's a bit of a mess...

Do you notice a common theme?  The previous owners (poorly) painted every single room in this house blue. They also installed IKEA light fixtures in each room of the house. We have repainted most of the rooms of the house, but are not anywhere close to completion of our new abode. Come along with us and see the transformation!
