Stitch Fix #8 - December 2013

It's the most fun part of the month - Stitch Fix day! Getting this box was like receiving an early Christmas present. This is my 8th box from Stitch Fix and this is by far the best one yet. My past few fixes have been hit or miss, but the best part about this company is the combination of personal style and computer algorithms. With the comments I left about the items I returned and my online style profile, Stitch Fix has really narrowed down on my personal style, while testing my boundaries with some new pieces.

Haven't heard of Stitch Fix yet? It's been in the news a lot recently! I did a full review a few months back. The gist of the company is this - 1. You fill out an online style profile and schedule a fix. 2. The team of stylists and computers pick out clothes they think you would like and send it to you on your chosen date. 3. You try on everything at home! 4. Keep what you like and return the rejects within 3 days. 5. Checkout online. Leave detailed comments on each piece they sent you. Was it too big? Was the print too crazy? Color didn't work well in your wardrobe? Tell them!

This month was actually full of items that I had on my wish list. Bonus? The items all went together! Hence why I only have three images to share with you!

41Hawthorn - Ivy solid tab sleeve v-neck blouse
Ark n Co - Stagnitto pleated skater skirt
Okay, I totally could have run these pieces over with an iron. Sorry about my laziness! 41Hawthorne is Stitch Fixes personal brand and I usually wind up with one of their pieces in each box. I decided to keep this particular blouse because the color is beautiful. Just the right shade of emerald green, I can't wait to iron it and wear it with some black skinny jeans.

This Ark n Co skirt is actually made out of neoprene, the fabric of the season! I've been on the hunt for the perfect a-line black skirt. I've probably tried on at least five or six. They either were too short, too long or not quite a-line.  This skirt is floaty and bounces when I walk. It's also lined with a soft material that feels like it will be warm in the winter. I'm definitely planning on wearing this skirt with some tights are heels. The biggest bonus? It was only $38! Steal.

RD Style - Diandra Chunky knit open cardigan
See this sweater?  Remember the sweater from last month? Yeah, they're basically the same in my book. Oh yeah, and how about this sweater of mine? With that sweater already in my closet, I couldn't possibly keep this top. Though it was warm and fuzzy.

TCEC - Stevenson polka dot crew neck sweater
Lasome - Pacific chevron print skirt
These last two pieces just had to go together. I wasn't quite sure about the skirt when I pulled it out of the box, it looked very, very long. Once I put it on with this sweater I really liked both pieces. Though I totally felt like a midcentury housewife.

See? Pearls, red lip, B&W. I'm straight out of the 1950's! I didn't keep either of these pieces. I already have two polka dotted sweaters in my closet and I just wasn't sure how often I would wear the skirt. I just wouldn't get the price down to my price per wear comfort zone. Both of these were popped back into the return bag, along with the open cardigan, and sent back to California.

Thanks for a great fix this month Stitch Fix! Being that I kept two pieces, and returned two because I already owned them, it seems like you're really getting to know me!

  6. The outfits are too cute! What is the typical price per piece? I want to try Stitch Fix but it seems a little out of my budget for actually buying the clothing...

    1. Thanks Ashley! They say the average price per item is about $75. For this fix the black skirt was $38, the polka dot sweater was $48, the chevron skirt was $58 and the two other pieces were $68. I think the most expensive item I've ever recieved was a dress for $118. It seems they carry a lot of middle of the road designers you see on piperlime?

  10. Love that cardigan! I was a bit bummed this month. I asked for a warm sweater and I was sent a very thin spring/summer cardigan instead. I know I love in Memphis but it gets cold here too!
