Happy New Year Stitch Fix friends! It's time for another fix and this one was lots of fun, though not so fun to photograph. It's getting cold out! My poor little fingers were freezing! This fix came in the mail just before my Christmas trip home to Buffalo, so I took this fix home and had my family help me choose what to keep!
Haven't heard about Stitch Fix yet? You can read a full review and explanation in this post and decide if it's something you're into! Basically you fill out an online profile and the Stitch Fix stylists send you some pieces from their vast collection. There is a $20 styling fee that gets applied to anything you purchase. Personally, I like to set up a Pinterest board for each coming season to help the stylists understand my style and what I've been lusting after.
This month I asked for a blazer for my new job and some cute weekend pieces. The pieces they sent me ranged from - Just what I was looking for - to - Totally not my style. Be sure to read through the entire post for a chance to win a $100 Stitch Fix gift card!!!
First up, this sheath dress from 41Hawthorne. I've been getting at least one item from the Stitch Fix private label each month. This month I got two. While I generally like the pieces from 41Hawthorne, I'm hoping for a little variety next month. This dress was cute, but I wasn't liking the fabric. It felt a little to flimsy for a work dress. I also just scored a few Hugo Boss dresses from the Bloomingdales Outlet recently, so back to California it went.

As far as trends go, the draped sweater hit hard this fall and Stitch Fix is determined to get me to buy a whole bunch of them. Remember the one on the right from two months ago? Or maybe the one in the center looks familiar, I actually own that one. I mentioned these things last month when I sent back the one on the left.
But that didn't stop them from sending me another one! I really loved this one, especially the detail at the wrist, but how long is this aztec draped sweater trend going to last? I couldn't justify keeping this one. You should totally ask for it in your next fix. It was so warm!
Mystree - Arwen Aztec Front Draped Cardigan |
Up next we have two major fails. The Papermoon blouse was a weird fit for me, I didn't really like where the pockets were sitting either. I feel like it's more of a summer shirt, sadly it's in a wintery color. No more chiffon blouses during winter please! These pants were also a miss. Look how huge they are on me! Also, I recently dropped a wad of credit at Elie Tahari and I'm pretty set in the trousers department. I haven't had any luck with trousers from Stitch Fix, yet.
Papermoon - Wynn Ikat Print Front Pocket Blouse Margaret M - Arthur Trouser |
The last thing out of my Stitch Fix box was this 41Hawthorne blazer, just what I asked for! It's more of a casual blazer, as it's made from cotton, but the color is beautiful and the ruched sleeves are such a fun detail! I also loved the fit, it cinched in at the waist just perfectly! Totally kept this piece.

ReplyDeleteThe dress and the blazer look great.
ReplyDeleteI love that blazer! I wouldn't have been able to resist the sweater; I probably have too many but eh :)
ReplyDeleteI like the blue blazer and the dress.
ReplyDeleteYou look great in it all! Good choice on the fun blazer.
ReplyDeleteI like the blouse on you and wish you had kept it, pocket-placement and fabric notwithstanding.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your pick - the blue blazer looks great & seems like a fun piece to wear many different ways.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress!
ReplyDeleteI love the dress!
ReplyDeleteI really like the blouse, although you're right about it bring to thin for winter. I LOVE the blazer! Good choice.
ReplyDeleteI like the reviews of all the pieces, even the ones that didn't work out. I would like to see how that Aztec cardigan looks on me ... I've been thinking about those drapey sweaters lately.

I thought the dress looked gorgeous on you, but the blazer is a great color (and love the contrast lining!). I probably would have kept the aztec cardigan - it looks so cozy, plus I like that it's black and white (more neutral)!
ReplyDeletewow! so nice of you to do a giveaway. that blazer is gorgeous - great color and looks fab on you!
ReplyDeleteOne of the cozy sweaters for sure.
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki, you look great in all these outfits. The dress is a beauty and so are the sweaters. What a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteblue hue wonderland
That blazer is adorable on you! I'd love to see something like that in a Fix!
ReplyDeleteI am SO glad I visited your blog...I was literally just Googling Stitch Fix because I was wanting to try it-- hope I win! I would have kept the open front cardigan...so cozy and warm! Love the Aztec print too!

Honestly, all often pieces look great on you! But I would have kept the blazer too. You can get the most use out it, and that color is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki! Thanks for stopping by my blog and inviting me over! I would have a hard time choosing between the Aztec print cardi and the blazer (love the color). I'm totally a sweater girl though, so probably the cardi:)
ReplyDeleteGreat reviews Vicki! You do look great in the Aztec sweater although I understand why you wanted something more classic. The cobalt blazer, though, is perfection! Glad it worked out so well for you.
ReplyDeleteOn the Daily Express
I think you were right on with what you kept and what you sent back. The blazer really stands out and fits you so well!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki, thx so much for visiting me @theboxqueen today! I really liked your comments on your classics. From the above fix I would definitely keep the blazer ( it looks great on you) as I love the color and the fix. I may also have kept the Aztec sweater depending in how it looks layered. I will follow you on instagram and facebook; would be soo happy if I saw you on my social media as well; think we have similarities in our fashion taste <3 <3
ReplyDeletefor some reason color and fit and depending on how it looks layered gets autocorrected; sorry for the weird spelling :)
DeleteBeautiful clothes and I love that blue color blazer!!! Thank you for stopping by :)
ReplyDeletexo,
Janise
I would have kept that blazer too! But I also loved the blouse, and being in CA the weather is perfect. Kinda hope I get to try it in my fix this month. :)
ReplyDeleteThat blue blazer is gorgeous and the perfect color for you. I also like that it can be styled for several different seasons! A keeper for sure! The chiffon blouse actually looks really nice on you, but i understand about that fabric in the winter! I love the sweater - keeper! The dress is fabulous but I really would not wear it enough to justify keeping it. I love your Stitch Fix reviews. Thanks for the fun! Susan
ReplyDeleteI love dresses so the dress with stripes is my favorite!!
ReplyDeleteand you look so good with it, I have one that looks kind of like that one and even though I don't have such a lovely figure as you have, it looks pretty good on me :)
xoxo Sarah
Love the dress
ReplyDeleteI think you made the right choice in keeping the blazer, but I actually really like the look of the dress too! I'm not really a fan of that style of cardigan, though.
ReplyDeleteI love the gray draped sweater on the far right. And that blue blazer is perfect and makes me hope spring is right around the corner!!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is gorgeous, it's just one those pieces that might not get too much use. The gray sweater is beautiful and the blue blazer will be perfect this spring! I love services like this that make it easy to look put together.
ReplyDeleteLove that aztec cardigan! I would have totally kept that one, haha. The blazer is nice too :)
ReplyDeleteI love the stripe dress and the aztec sweater!

I think the neckline on the dress is really unique and interesting, but otherwise, there is something a little off about it. Like you, I would've chosen the blazer. Love the fit - and the cobalt color!
ReplyDeleteThe blazed was super cute!
ReplyDeleteGlad you kept the blazer - it's lovely on you! I really like the cardi too, looks nice and warm for winter.
ReplyDeleteIf the trousers fit a little better I would have kept them - the wide-legged look is great on you!
ReplyDeleteI wish they would try to get me to buy a drapey cardigan. They never send me any and they're my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI really love the open front sweater! I requested one in my next fix, so hopefully the one they send me will be cute.
ReplyDeleteThe blazer is really cute on you, but I feel so awkward in blazers - even if they're required for a work environment.
Stitch Fix sounds like an awesome concept....I love every single piece you got from them esp. the 1st B&W dress!!!

ReplyDeleteI would have kept the blazer, too. Great color.
ReplyDeleteI totally would've kept that cardigan! I actually asked for a thicker warn sweater/cardigan in my last fix but they sent me a thin cardigan instead. I liked it but it was not going to do me any good during the winter. I know they take location into consideration, but it gets cold in Memphis too!
ReplyDeleteI love blazers and that blue is gorgeous! I would have kept it also!
ReplyDeleteI love that blazer!! The color is gorgeous and I'm a huge fan of blazers. I also really like that Papermoon blouse. We never really get freezing here so it would make the cut for me!!
ReplyDeleteBlue blazer for the win! Although I completely understand the reasons to return, the draped Aztec sweater did look super cute. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Stitch Fix! That draped sweater is amazing! I hope that send that to me next month!
