Rats

As another polar blast hits the East coast, I think I'm going to bundle up and stay in this weekend.  While I love wandering the streets of New York, they become frigid wind tunnels in January and February.  This weekend I'll be staying local and brunching in Montclair with the Boyfriend.

I picked up this adorable necklace from the Etsy Craft Cavalcade in Brooklyn, just before Christmas.  I got it from Lu Crafts, though it looks like she only has housewares on her etsy site right now.  I'm sure you could e-mail her and request one!

I carry a huge tote to and from work each day.  During the weekends I like to pare down to a lightweight crossbody bag.  I picked this one up from Kenneth Cole a few weeks ago.  I like to pet it.

Brrrr!!! Stay warm everyone!

Edgy Boucle

First, only a few days left to enter to win a $100 gift card for Stitch Fix!

You see that snow?  I was not expecting it when I took my camera outside.  I might have changed my mind about what I wanted to shoot!  Luckily my new Parker blazer is adorable and warm.  I wasn't quite sure of it when the BF and I picked it up at Saks, but I've really fallen in love with all of the fun details. Today I paired it with my favorite coated skinnies from Club Monaco, but I've also worn it over an LBD and also paired with a grey pencil skirt.  It's so versatile!

I finished out today's look with my new favorite red Kate Spade heels (check out the square heel!), a super casual gap tank top (I have about ten of this same tank) and of course, five dollar jewelry from Madeline.

Jacket - Parker (Last season, this one is almost an exact match)
Tank - Gap
Jeans - Club Monaco
Heels - Kate Spade
Necklace - Madeline (in stores only)

I love these heels for three reasons...  1. They're so red!  2. They're surprisingly comfortable & 3. They put me well over six feet tall.  I love it when I'm super tall.

And here's a little B&W shot because I thought the jacket looked amazing in grey scale.  What are your thoughts on Black & White photos for fashion blogging?  I'm always a huge fan of contrasty B&W, but maybe it's a personal preference?

A Vest, with Sleeves?

I think fall is finally here to stay. The weekend forecast calls for daytime temps in the 30's! I think that means I won't be wearing these capris again, at least not without knee high boots on my feet. How would you style these capris for the winter time?

I've also taken to layering, a lot! I got this vest from Century 21 for my birthday (thanks BF!) and have been wearing it non-stop since then. It's so warm! Though I did complain that my arms were cold while the BF and I went out to dinner the other night.  He proclaimed "It's such a tragedy that they don't make vests with sleeves!" Funny guy. Hilarious.

I've been testing out my new Rebecca Minkoff bags this week too, trying to decide which one I like the best. The BF likes this one (the Hudson Moto) the most, saying it's more versatile than the quilted bag. I'm not sure, I like both! I might have to find something else for my friend for Christmas!

Wool Moto

It's jacket time! I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad.  I'm sad because that means we are getting further from sun dress and sandals weather.  Yet I'm so happy because I can bring this coat out of the closet again!

I got this beauty at Elie Tahari last winter. I spent time arguing with the sales person about the colors it was available in. I swore that it also came in turquoise, yet he told me " No no no, purple, tan and gold alligator."  While I was taken with the gold alligator, it was about a thousand dollars more than I wanted to spend (seriously).  I decided the purple moto jacket was coming home with me.  I wore it until the temps dropped too low and my butt got cold!

And I was totally right about the turquoise.  I found it at Bloomingdale's a few weeks later!

Whimsy for Fall

A few months ago, on one of my random day trips to the city, I discovered C Wonder.  I've been smitten ever since.  Walking into the store, your eyes are assaulted by so much color it's crazy.  Crazy wonderful.  It's not really the store for the person who wears only black.

On top of fabulous colors and endless monogramming possibilites, C Wonder is offering so many whimsical sweaters this fall.  I had to hold myself back and I only bought one (though I totally wanted this one and this one too).  This adorable dachshund sweater isn't available online anymore, but I saw it in the store a few days ago.

Check out that little tail!  (the sweater that is, not mine)  So Cute.
