How's that for alliteration? Today I'm thinking all about work wear. Though I guess it's not just things to wear to work, but also to carry to work and to bring to work because you need hydration and food. We spend so much of our lives at the office, why not look good and feel good while you're there?
1. C Wonder - Ikat Coffee Mug - $10 - More so for the winter, but I always like to have my morning beverage in a cute bug, rather than a paper cup. My mug is just making my desk look pretty these days, it's the season of iced everything!
2. Rebecca Minkoff - Medium M.A.B. Tote - $255 - I have this tote for my monster of a laptop. This Rebecca Minkoff bag is big and sturdy! It holds everything I need to bring with me to work, including my shoes and lunch.
3. Rebecca Taylor - Pleated mixed tweed dress - SALE $383 - Of course you need to have cute clothes for work. Showing up in a bright and crisp dress really sets the mood for your entire day at the office.
4. Fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment (Tulip) - $22.50 - I literally have four of these in my office right now. Three different tinted colors and one sheer. They are super moisturizing, which is completely necessary in this over air conditioned office world that we all live in. Bonus? It has SPF.
5. Fitbit - Fitbit Zip - $48.99 - And that SPF will come in handy when you get away from your desk for an afternoon walk. After I transitioned from a lab job to a desk job, I found that I wasn't moving around as much. Now I have my Fitbit (and so do many of my coworkers!) and I try to log over 10,000 steps per day. A quick walk after lunch totally helps me toward that goal.
6. Kate Spade - Black Cat silicone iPhone case - $45 - I have the toucan case from the summer collection. It was also $45 and I can't see spending another $45 on this iPhone case, but it's so cute. A black cat is so perfect for the fall!
7. DVF - Amelia Silk Combo flared wrap dress - $485 - I've been living in wrap dresses this summer. Combine them with some bike shorts and you're all set for whatever the day throws at you. Wrap dress + bike shorts = absolute comfort.
8. Basily - Infuser Water Bottle - $15.99 - With all of the amazing fruits I've been picking up at the markets this summer, there was no need for boring, plain water. Cut up some berries and pop them in the infuser and in minutes you have an amazing and refreshing drink!
9. Ikea - Knubbig Table Lamp - $7.99 - The light in my office is sub-par. I like to have an extra pop of light on my desk, not only to be able to read things, but also to cheer up the room a little. This is especially helpful on stormy summer days.
10. Kate Spade - Bedford Square Eastern bag - $398 - I know, I already said that I have the RM M.A.B. tote, but look how pretty this bag is! Look at all of those internal compartments! So gorgeous and useful.
What are some of your favorite things to have at the office? Something special to make the time pass a little faster?

Springtime Color
Spring has finally arrived in New Jersey! The temperatures keep jumping back and forth from comfortable to chilly, but at least the flowers are here. I'm in love with the original Montclair, NJ town planner, because they planted flowering trees all down the central street. It's like driving down a lane of white puffballs. My apartment building is also surrounded by these pink flowering trees
The flowers outside are inspiring me to perk up the colors of my wardrobe. The winter knits have gone to into storage and the chiffon and neon has made its way out. I've been waiting all winter to wear these pink pants! As my company doesn't do casual Fridays, this is my dressed down "it's almost the weekend" look.
I picked up this blue bauble at Charming Charlies a few weeks ago. The bright colors seem to go with everything I own. Or I just really like it and want to wear it with everything!

Wilde Travel Musts
With all of the traveling I've been doing recently, I have started to rely on a few items during my long flights. I flew off to London this week and brought a bunch of my favorites!
Anker Power pack - Perfect for powering up your phone, iPad or anything else that needs USB power. There is enough power in this little guy to restore your phone up to nine times!
Fuzzy socks - Those airplanes really like the air conditioning. With seven hours in flight, I like to take off my shoes and put on some fuzzy socks. So cozy.
Metal water bottle - One that clips onto my bag. Head through security, fill it up in the airport, stay hydrated!
KIND bars - My favorite are the peanut butter and strawberry bars. They have enough protein to keep me from snacking through the whole flight. Just sweet enough to fool myself into thinking it's a candy bar!
SUGAR Fresh lip balm - Why are airplanes so dry? In combination with all the water I'm drinking, this lip balm keeps in the moisture. It also has a light tint and totally helps me look alive after a long flight.
Annie's bunny snacks - If I need a little sugar pick-me-up, I reach for these fruit snacks. I love Annies natural flavors, no question about what flavor the yellow one should be.
C Wonder Pouch - I hate fumbling in my bag for gum, lip balm or headphones. I put all of my small items in one of these pouches and just toss it in the purse. I actually have two of them. One for toiletries, one for odds and ends!
Kate Spade Tote - I have this tote in purple. It's the perfect travel tote, just the right size to toss over my shoulder and fit all of my essentials. It fits perfectly under the seat in front of me, but also zips at the top in case I tip it over. It's a Kate Spade classic and they make it in several colors each season. If they produce it in their new green color, I'm totally buying another!

Patience
I've been looking all winter for a leather skirt. When I saw the Rita skirt at Diane Von Furstenberg, I knew that it was just what I was looking for. The problem? At $500, the skirt was quite a bit more than I was willing to pay. Patience was necessary and after a month, that patience paid off.
At the same time that the skirt went on sale at the Soho store, it also showed up at Nieman Marcus - Last Call. Then there was a coupon for an additional 20% off! I was able to score this amazing skirt for 40% of the original price! Bonus? There are two zippers on the front seams. Keep them zipped up during the day, unzip one (or two) for dinner and a night on the town. Totally a perfect day-to-night skirt!
I've been having fun with this skirt and wearing it with my whimsical sweaters. Now, to find a way to bring this skirt from winter into spring...

Ombre Warmth
First, don't forget to enter to win a $100 gift card for Stitch Fix!
This time of year I feel like buying every single coat I see. I have to hold myself back a bit, our coat closet is already full to the brim. Yet when I saw this jacket at Piperlime I knew I had to own it.
It's not the warmest coat on earth, but I love the ombre, the wide collar & the roomy cut. It's perfect for wearing over another warm and fuzzy top. Bonus, the wide collar can turn into a hood during inclement weather!
You might remember this sweatshirt from my Current Obsession list last week. It's actually from Lululemon and I plan on wearing it to more than just the gym. Mostly because it's warm and the inside is crazy fuzzy!
Jacket - BB Dakota via Piperlime
Top - Lululemon
Jeans - 7 For All Mankind ("The Skinny")
Booties - C Wonder (Sold out, see below for more options!)
Sunglasses - Warby Parker (The Madison)

Miss Rogers Sweater
Happy New Year friends! The new year seems to have brought lots of chilly air to the Tri-state region and I'm cold! It's time to break out the heavy sweaters. I found this sweater on the Victoria's Secret website a few months ago and have taken to calling it my "Mr. Rogers sweater." I love pairing this long, heavy sweater with skinny jeans and booties.
How do you like to wear your long sweaters? Are you a fan of leggings, or maybe throwing it over a dress?
Sweater: Victoria's Secret (old, similar)
Tee: Gap
Necklace: Madeline (available in stores only)
Jeans: 7 for all Mankind (The Skinny)
Booties: C Wonder (Fall 2013, similar)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff

Layered Travel
Happy December! How is it already December? I hope that you had a lovely thanksgiving weekend (or a lovely regular weekend for my non-American friends!) Personally, I'm just now on my way back from visiting the BF's parents in Florida. It was a great change of scenery and weather from the chilly weather we've been having up here in the tri-state.
I'll be sharing some vacation posts later in the week, but this is what I was wearing for our trip down to the sunshine state. Upon our arrival I shed the white button down and slipped on some ballet flats. Layering is such a great way to travel from cold to hot weather!
I'm also very excited about this new bag. I'd been eyeing it up for a few weeks at the Soho C Wonder, but it was $250. Eventually it disappeared from both the stores and the website so I thought all was lost. Just after my birthday they had an online flash sale and this bag was there! For only $99! I didn't even hesitate, it was going to be mine. I love the combination of oxblood, cognac and navy leather, it's so pretty.
I got this jacket two years ago at Kenneth Cole. Now I don't know if you've ever been to a Kenneth Cole store, but it seems they're always having a sale and trying to just give everything away. This jacket was new to the racks, but also included in their 40% off jackets sale. I bought it a little big so I could pile on the sweaters underneath.
Jacket: Kenneth Cole (old, similar)
Button down: Banana Republic
Peplum: Madewell
Jeans: Kenneth Cole
Booties: DV by Dolce Vita
Bag: C Wonder (sold out, similar)

Sample of Wonder
It's getting cold out and I want nothing more than to dress from head to toe in knitwear. This dress just about fits the bill. A few weeks ago I made it to the C Wonder sample sale and picked up a few pieces, including this dress.
It's an actual sample from the original design work on the dress. You'll notice it's a slightly different color than the production piece at C Wonder. I made sure to try it on before taking it home, just in case there was something strange with the sample piece. Luckily there was dressing room at the sample sale, though it was just a big communal room for all the ladies! Thanks to the sale I was able to pick up this dress for less than half the original (and still current) price.
In order to stay warm, I decided to pair it up with some thick tights and my new black ankle booties from Joie. Are you near a Joie boutique and want some new shoes? They are pairing up with Soles4Souls until November 28th. Bring in a pair of gently worn shoes and you'll receive 20% off of your full price shoe purchase! (I got this pair by trading in a pair of Pumas that never really fit right.)
Note to self: Do not shoot images on the roof when it's windy.

Burnout Flare
T-minus two months before my braces are off! I'm a very excited girl!
I don't know about you, but I'm not a huge fan of daylight savings time. The original point of falling back was to save energy by decreasing the need for lighting in the evening hours. So why don't we stay with the summertime clock setting? I don't really need daylight at 6:00 in the morning, I'm still sleeping.
These photos were taken just before we "Fell back" and changed the clocks for winter, right in the golden hour before sunset. With the change in time has come a change in weather! I've been wearing my Sachin & Babi coat non-stop. I got it from Saks off 5th, but I found you an amazingly similar coat from Walter Baker. I'm loving the quilted sleeves!

Reverse Mullet
Is it me, or is everything being embellished with leather this fall? Sweatshirts, leggings, hats, blazers. I've seen it paired with tweed, tulle, animal print and denim, just to name a few. And is it wrong that I want to own all of it?
This vegan leather top from French Connection was one of the items I picked up last month with my GILT certificate and I love love love it! It's a conservative sweater in the back and a leather party in the front! It's like a reverse mullet in sweater form.
Since that wasn't enough craziness, I paired the reverse mullet sweater with these subtly animal-printed jeans from C Wonder. They are technically called "foiled" denim, but they totally aren't foily or shiny at all. Which is good, because they would be way too much going on in my outfit then.
And was I the only one taken with the Rebecca Minkoff woven clutch this fall? That one was over $300. This beauty from French Connection was only $68! Deal. Love it.
